How to open excel spreadsheets in different windows

Microsoft Excel by default launches different Excel sheets within the same window.

This is often time consuming when there are multiple sheets involved as each one needs to be minimized and then restored again.Arranging sheets side by side is useful only to an extent but not much.

A simple setting can make different Excel sheets open in different windows which becomes very convenient when using multiple monitors.

To do this,launch excel (Start > Run > excel.exe)
Go to Tools > Options > General.

Check the “Ignore other applications” option.
Close excel and relaunch.
Different spreadsheets will now open in different seperate windows.
